| yeah, so I can't stand to read this stuff any more. good bye 2005 and hello 2006!!!! time to move on.....later gators, its been...hmmmmm. well lets just leave it at that, its a has been....love ya all!!! | | |
| Dear loved ones, I have been finding it very difficult with each passing year to stay focused on the Birth of Christ. Through all the shiny packages, colored lights, decorated houses and trees. The angry drivers and malls filled with frustrated people pretending to be having a wonderful time as they pass each other by and thoughtlessly wish them a Merry Christmas. Oh wait!!! I stand politically corrected.... I mean Happy holidays!! Come on!!! I want so much to break the stupid man made traditions with out offending the world and upsetting the family. But how do I do that? As I search God’s word and as I am reminded over and over again what pleases God and what He commands us to do. I see nowhere in there that I am supposed to do all these things that the world is doing to supposedly celebrate the Birth of Christ. Am I the only one out there that is seeing this? Or am I really just a scrooge?! However, I do like the words ''bah -hum- bug!!!'' It seems to me that we are receiving for ourselves and giving gifts to everyone else and forgetting the one with the birthday. It's His birthday! Maybe we ought to ask Him what He wants.
Maybe He'll lead you to make a gift to your church. Maybe He'll lead you to give in the form of a missions offering, a special anonymous gift to someone or an organization that furthers His kingdom. Maybe it will be a gift of time or service. Maybe all of the above! What has He already asked of us?
“’For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” (Matthew 25:35-45)
When we do these things, whom are we doing them for? Should we wait till December to do them and are we finished come January? Don't take my word for it, check it out. ...the money that would have been spent on purchases for us or for those you think you have to buy for could be used in other ways. For instance help put a dent in your elderly neighbors fuel bill because they might have to make a choice to not buy groceries or skip their medication prescription in return for heat. Why not buy them groceries? If you think its not enough to touch the fuel bill… what does God have to say? Look at Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Don't take my word for it, look it up.
Saying thank you to those who have blessed us in some large or small way is a beautiful gift from the heart, which doesn't cost anything but is tremendously precious. So with that all being said, I thank you! And I want each and every one of you to know that I love you with all that I am. My prayer for you and me is that we stop and ask God to search our hearts for hidden motives in our choices that we make. It is like a cancer that eats away the true meaning of Christmas. It is very easy to be distracted by the colored blinking lights. In all the madness and preparations, I struggle to see God in all that. I believe that He was born, died and rose again let us remind each other daily lest we forsake Him. He calls us to be in the world not of the world, some how we have to find our way and not get lost in all worldliness. I am so grateful and thankful to my God that promises those whom love and serve Him that He will never forsake us and will show us the way.
Let us thank our heavenly Father for the free gift of salvation to all who believe in God and His son, Jesus Christ. Ask God to make opportunity for you to share this awesome gift! God Bless you all as you celebrate the Birth of Christ and be reminded this year that He was born on this day only to die so that you may live. Celebrate this year by telling the people in your world the truths of His word and that He loves them just as they are and that He has even a better plan for their life and is never going to abandon them. Tell them that He was born on this day to die for them thirty-three years later that they may have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. He not only died for their sins but also was born knowing of His fate. Isn't His birth and death for us something to celebrate?! Isn't this a good reason to serve Him and put our selfish desires behind us once and for all?

Ways to Grow Spiritually,
Having a quiet time with the Lord every day is absolutely essential if you expect to grow spiritually. But you have to plan it. It won't "just happen." We're all much too busy. Early morning is best, and there are plenty of scriptural precedents for that (Jesus rose "a great while before day"; the psalmist said, "In the morning shalt Thou hear my voice").
If you meet the Lord before you meet anybody else, you'll be "pointed in the right direction" for whatever comes. God knows how difficult it is for some to do this, and if you have a reason you can offer Him why early morning won't work, I'm sure He'll help you to find another time. At any rate, plan the time. Make up your mind to stick with it. Make it short to begin with--fifteen minutes or so, perhaps. You'll be surprised at how soon you'll be wanting more.
Take a single book of the Bible. If you're new at this, start with the Gospel of Mark. Pray, first, for the Holy Spirit's teaching. Read a few verses, a paragraph, or a chapter. Then ask, What does this passage teach me about: (1) God, (2) Jesus Christ, (3) the Holy Spirit, (4) myself, (5) sins to confess or avoid, (6) commands to obey, (7) what Christian love is?
Keep a notebook. Write down some of your special prayer requests with the date. Record the answer when it comes. Note, also, some of the answers you've found to the above questions, or anything else you've learned. Tell your parents, your friends your siblings, some of these things. That will help you to remember them. You'll be amazed at what a difference a quiet time will make in your life.
Give it a try, what do you got to lose?
Love ya all, Millie | | |
| Hey all!!!
Hope this finds you all doing well. I am so sad to inform you that this is the only means of communicating with you anymore, other than e-mail. Long story short, we had aol and now we don't, easy come easy go....So anyway's!!! I want to tell you all thankyou so much for your prayers while I was away and to let you know that God heard each one and answered them all in the sweetest ways imaginable. God is good , all the time, all the time, God is good. don't it just make you want to sing out!!! I learned so much in that two weeks that I hope in time I get to share with you all but for now I simply want to leave you with this thought. It is so much easier to serve God when you take a few days out of your life and dedicate them entirely to Him. That is when we find our selves doing things we never thought possible, going places we have never been and discovering things we wished we would have known along time ago. If you want to experience God doing something amazing with your life, tell Him that for the next few days, your schedule is now His, your business is His business, your time is His time and trust that He will make all the preparations to make things happen if you are sincere in giving it all over to Him. Remember, as long as you think you are in control and you have to plan things out then you really haven't given it all over to Him. God wants and desires to use us all in mighty ways, its only us that keeps ourselves away from experiencing His Grace to the fullest. I can assure you that when you do this once, you never want to go back to the way things were before.
What is Gods will? What is it He wants you to do? here's a hint, at least it seems to be a formula that works for me. If God has given you a strong passion for others, and it lines up with His word, and it won't leave you alone, Yield to it.
Ask God to show you if there is any hidden motives to what you are thinking He is calling you to do. If they are not of Him then rebuke them immediately, give up your schedule, plans, days and nights and be at His disposal. He will meet your every need to make it happen, trust Him at His word. Ask your self this question, Can you do it on your own? is it way way bigger than you? Does it look impossible? Then through your praying and fasting He will make it clear and send you on your way.
All He asks of us is our willingness to submit to Him completely and then He is free to do great things through us. God Bless and hope to hear some of your amazing experiences soon. Love Millie
